The Samsung Galaxy Y is the entry level Galaxy smartphone. The Y forms part of Samsung's new smartphone naming convention, which consists of five categories: S (Super Smart) is for the very high-end smartphones, R (Refined) is for high-end, W (Wonder) is for upper mid-range, M (Magical) is for mid-range smartphones and Y (Young) is for entry level smartphones.

The Galaxy Y runs on Android v2.3 and weighs just 98g. ItÆs a gorgeous, compact smartphone with an attractive price tag. The 3 inch touchscreen comes with SamsungÆs TouchWiz interface. On the back of the phone thereÆs a 2 megapixel camera, which sounds mediocre yet actually produces fine pictures and video.
