Samsung is not the only mobile manufacturer to insist on making its smartphones bigger every few months, since Phone Arena has acquired leaked images of a new handset from rival firm, LG, that will be very well endowed in the display department.
The Optimus G Pro, which first surfaced in rumours last month, was originally thought to come with a five inch touchscreen display. But now it seems that an even larger iteration, with a 5.5 inch panel, is also going to be making its debut at the MWC event this month.
Like its slightly smaller sibling, the 5.5 inch handset will use a full HD 1080p display and a 1.7GHz quad core processor, with 2GB of RAM.
It will also feature a larger battery, which should help to prolong the usability of what will almost certainly be a power hungry handset.
The Optimus G Pro will clearly being going head to head with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and has the distinct advantage of knocking the socks off its rival’s 720p display, with its higher resolution panel.
Pricing and a European launch window remain a mystery, but all should be revealed during MWC 2013.
