The Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the best smartphones on the market at the moment, which means that it is no surprise to see a scaled down edition hitting the headlines this week.
Samsung revealed the new four inch Galaxy S3 Mini at an event in Germany, showcasing the four inch touchscreen device in front of the world’s media.
Of course in the modern world, the word ‘mini’ is really relative, since with a four inch display, the Galaxy S3 Mini is the same size as the iPhone 5 and even the 2010 Galaxy S flagship device.
With Android 4.1 onboard and a slender new chassis, the Galaxy S3 Mini will appeal to people who were slightly put off by the 4.8 inch display of its larger sibling.
Consumers should be able to buy this device shortly after its release, since Samsung is not one to mess around when it comes to getting fresh hardware out to its fans.
The one issue with the arrival of the Galaxy S3 Mini is that it does step on the toes of last year’s Galaxy S2, which remains a high flying smartphone, the price of which has reduced significantly in recent months.
