This week it has been confirmed that there are no more new Nexus 4 handsets for sale in the US as Google has not restocked its inventory.
It is likely that this action has been taken in anticipation of the launch of the Nexus 5, which is set to touch down in the next few weeks and could introduce Android 4.4 KitKat to the world.
Now media acquired by 9to5Mac has revealed what appears to be a developer version of the Nexus 5, which was left at a bar for long enough for someone to capture a few images and even record some video footage.
The handset bears LG’s logo and it is thought to be based on the same underlying hardware as the G2 from this South Korean manufacturer.
LG also built the Nexus 4, which was of course praised for its low price point combined with its class-leading components.
A new quad core processor, 1080p display and updated Android operating system are all going to give the Nexus 5 the chance to shine in the autumn of 2013, although of course, it will be competing directly with the Apple iPhone 5S this year.
