HTC is busy preparing its new flagship Android smartphone, codenamed the M7, for a launch this spring. Now a rumour reported by news site HTC Source, has claimed that this device will be going on sale in early March.
HTC will apparently be holding a press conference on the 19th of February, to show off the M7 in public for the first time, before retailers get the go-ahead to start selling it on March 8th.
The M7 is going to be a well equipped handset if recent rumours are to be believed. It is alleged to sport a 4.7 inch full HD display, an impressive 13 megapixel camera and the latest version of Android.
For a period it was assumed that the M7 would be a five inch smartphone to compete with Samsung’s anticipated display dimensions for the Galaxy S4. However, HTC now seems to have gone with the smaller 4.7 inch screen, that is the same size as the one used on last year’s One X, albeit with a higher native resolution.
We should know whether or not these rumours are true within the next couple of weeks, which means HTC might be bringing its new device to market ahead of Samsung.
