The iPhone 5 was the first Apple handset to shake up the screen size of the range, since the very first model arrived back in 2007. However, some were disappointed that it only boosted the display to four inches, given that most rivals are now closing in on the five inch screen, as an industry standard.
Now reports from China Times suggest that as well as releasing an iPhone 5S in the summer, Apple will also be debuting yet another handset in this range, with an even larger display.
Known as the iPhone Math, this will apparently feature a 4.8 inch screen, that would put it in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X.
Sources have claimed that Apple will be broadening the iPhone family further before the end of the year, although it is worth noting that China Times is not always the most reliable outlet for industry rumours.
If Apple does release a 4.8 inch iPhone, it will be an admission that it has been a bit behind the curve over the past 18 months. Of course, by the middle of the year, we will be seeing five inch Android rivals on offer, which will still leave the iPhone Math looking a little obsolete.
