British mobile maker, Wileyfox, may have had some financial issues recently, but the brand is set to remain in operation thanks to a licensing deal. This also means that brand new handsets are also on the way for 2018, according to Tech Radar.
The Swift 2 range of devices will remain on offer for customers going forwards, although partner firm, STK, says that it will take a couple of weeks for it to get the mobiles back in stock. It also said that current customers could be sure that their warranties would be honoured, even with Wileyfox entering administration last month.
The next generation of Wileyfox smartphones should arrive in the second half of the year, although details of their specifications remain a mystery.
What is known is that they will run the latest version of Android and will be competitive with other mid to low-end devices.
The current flagship of the Wileyfox brand is the Swift 2 X, which has a 5.2 inch screen, 3GB of RAM, a 16 megapixel camera and a surprising premium design that makes it feel much more expensive than it is. If this trick can be repeated with its successors, this company may survive for longer.
