The LG Nexus 4 is expected to be officially unveiled during an event held next week, but a leaked press shot has given the world an early glimpse of this new flagship Android phone.
Android 4.2 will be preinstalled on the device, although Google is still referring to this as part of the Jelly Bean family.
The phone now features Nexus branding on the rear, although, as with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, there is still the marque of the manufacturer present.
With a 4.7 inch HD display, a quad core processor and a 13 megapixel camera, the Nexus 4 will be every inch the high end handset, doing battle with the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X+.
Interestingly, it is thought that Google will be using the Nexus 4 launch event to also announce that it is throwing open the doors of the Nexus brand, so that any manufacturer can produce a model.
There will be some minimum requirements laid out and it has to be said that previous Nexus devices have not been as popular as individually branded equivalents in the past. However, it is an interesting move, which could help to consolidate the Android family.
