Samsung’s first two Galaxy Note handsets have pushed the technical boundaries more than any other smartphone range around, but now rumours, unearthed by the Korea Times, suggest that the Galaxy Note 3 will be even more of a beast.
It is believed that Samsung will endow this upcoming handset with a 6.3 inch screen, presumably packing a full HD 1080p resolution.
Processing power will come courtesy of an eight core chip, that outdoes the current quad core Exynos CPU found on the Galaxy Note 2, in terms of both speed and battery life.
Samsung has seen Chinese rivals preparing their own big screen smartphones for market over the past few weeks and so it will want to make the next Galaxy Note a real statement of intent.
However, with a 5.5 inch screen, the existing Galaxy Note 2 is already a large device that will not fit into some pockets. Adding almost an entire inch to the display size for its follow up, might further limit its portability.
Also, if you have a 6.3 inch smartphone with you at all times, would there be any point in buying a seven inch tablet?
