An error made by Samsung itself this week has seen the first official details about the upcoming Galaxy S7 Edge leak out ahead of schedule. And, ironically enough, the biggest piece of information that is now known about the device is that it will be waterproof, according to TechRadar.
Observers report that the handset, which looks an awful lot like last year’s Galaxy S6 Edge+, is indeed its 2016 follow-up, complete with a curved 5.5 inch display and a host of high end hardware under the skin.
The promise of full waterproofing will be welcomed by those who were sad to see Samsung ditch this in favour of slimmer, more stylish handsets last year. And since the S7 Edge seems to be just as good looking as its predecessor, aesthetics have not been sacrificed in favour of practicality either.
Of course, a leak like this is unsurprising given that that the official launch of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are just around the corner, with Samsung hosting an event next weekend at the Mobile World Congress event over in Barcelona. And it seems certain now that the standard Galaxy S7 will also be waterproof, mimicking its curved sibling.
