TMONews reports that a Twitter posting appears to show that HTC will be producing a device known as the 8X, which will be in the running to compete with the Nokia Lumia 820 and 920, later in the year.
The HTC 8X will have a 1.2GHz dual core processor, a 4.3 inch touchscreen display and 1GB of RAM onboard.
It will also have 16GB of storage space, NFC (near field communication) connectivity and HTC’s own Beats Audio technology.
On the rear, an eight megapixel camera with flash and auto focus is on offer and the secondary camera on the front will feature a better lens than most forward-facing snappers, which will give it the ability to record full HD video clips, if the user so chooses.
It is thought that the HTC 8X will be arriving in November with Windows Phone 8 preinstalled. Of course, if Nokia can get its devices to market first, then it might have a bit of a head start, which could help it in the run up to Christmas.
