Sony could be joining the mini mobile party by creating a smaller version of its as yet unannounced flagship handset, the Xperia i1.
This is according to reports from GSMInsider, which cite a forum thread outlining the specifications of the Xperia i1 Mini, also referred to as the Ray 3.
Insiders suggest that this could have a 4.3 inch HD display, a 2.2GHz central processor, a hefty 2GB slice of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage space.
Tastier than all these admittedly impressive specifications is the assertion that the phone will also have a 20.7 megapixel camera, putting it on the same level as the full size Xperia i1, with only the lack of a full HD 5 inch display distinguishing the smaller device.
Should Sony come up with the goods and turn the Xperia i1 into this smaller equivalent, then it could easily outdo its biggest rivals, which are of course, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and the HTC One Mini.
The One Mini is the better of the two current models on the market, but Sony could steal its thunder following the launch of the main Xperia i1 device next month.
